General Club Information

The Club was founded in 1968. Since then it has grown into a successful club with more than 800 registered players. In 2007 Strathfield Junior Soccer Club (S.J.S.C) fielded 60 teams in Junior, Senior and Girls divisions, 18 teams playing in Semi-finals and beyond.

Both parents and senior players help to maintain the club. Their commitment to administration, coaching, managing and fundraising has enabled the club to reach prominence within the Canterbury & District Soccer Football Association (C.D.S.F.A).

Football NSW and the Referees Association provide coaching and referees courses. S.J.S.C encourages participation in these courses, and all coaches are required to attend an accredited course.

All teams are affiliated with the Canterbury & District Soccer Football Association (C.D.S.F.A). The association is represented by 21 clubs with some 600 teams and well over 8,000 players!

All competitive premiership teams begin their first round on the first Saturday in April, and finish by the end of July. Semi’s, Finals, and Grand Finals are normally completed by end of August.

The Canterbury Association is one of 15 Associations under the banner of the Sydney Branch which is governed by the N.S.W. Amateur Soccer Federation Ltd.

Together with the Sydney branch, the N.S.W. Federation has 4 other branches: Central Coast, Riverina, and Southern & Western Branches.

F.I.F.A is the international ruling body.
